Fast and Furious 7 Lykan Hypersport

W Motors, the Dubai-based developer of high-performance cars produced the Lykan HyperSport that featured in the latest installment of the Fast and Furious series- the Furious 7. With the success of the latest Fast and the Furious film it is time to take a closer look at the hero car.

First showcased at the Dubai Motor Show in November 2013, the Lykan was recently exhibited at the Shanghai Auto Show 2015and will cost customers an estimated USD 3.4 million.

Although W Motors plans to produce only seven models of the car, they are likely to introduce a new model soon considering the attention their prized creation has got after it appeared in Furious 7.

Vin Diesel scrapping through the Etihad Towers in the Lykan was a breathtaking sight. The producers of the film wanted a car that was “unique and different” and the Lykan did not disappoint.

“What makes the Lykan HyperSport so special is that it is so rare, exclusive, unique and to top it all the first United Arab Emirates based Supercar,” the filmmakers boasted.

The Lykan is a mid-rear engined sportscar powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine that has been sourced from Porsche tuner RUF. The petrol motor produces 770 bhp and 960 Nm of torque, allowing the car to sprint form 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds. The power is transmitted to the rear wheels of the car via a 6-speed sequential or a 7-speed PDK gearbox. The top-speed is electronically limited to 395 km/h.

Apart from having an incredibly powerful engine and exquisite exterior design, the Lykan exhibits a range of enthralling features. The LED headlights of the car have diamonds encrusted into them- 420 in total, weighting 15 carat. Moreover, the car has reverse mechanical door system, an interactive ID4 Motion dashboard and “an exclusive watch specially designed by Franck Muller Geneva” for the Lykan customers. Not to forget, owners of this elegant car will get 24-hour on-demand service.

“A team of qualified W engineers will fly to anywhere in the world to service your Hypercar or to help with any problem you might encounter with the Lykan at any given time,” W Motors write on their website.

While only a selected few individuals will purchase the car, the Lykan HyperSport is a masterwork by W Motors, who are looking to expand their presence over the coming years. Having already moved its headquarters to the Middle East, the company is planning to shift its assembling and production facilities to UAE from Torino, Italy. It is also in the process of signing partnerships with local distributors to open W Motors boutiques in various cities across the globe.
