Despite a report from late last year suggesting that the upcoming BMW M2 will deliver a total of 374 hp, the latest word on the street is that that figure has been decreased slightly to 365 hp and 342 lb-ft of torque.
Alongside these new power and torque figures, it is suggested that the BMW M2 will feature a torque overboost system which sees twisting power bumped up to 368 lb-ft. What these figures mean is that the BMW M2 will have at its disposal, an extra 44 hp over the already brisk BMW M235i. Both a six-speed manual transmission and eight-speed dual-clutch automatic ‘box are tipped to be offered.
Elsewhere it is reported that the BMW M2 will be offered with four different colours from launch; Alpine White, Long Beach Blue metallic, Mineral Grey metallic and Black Sapphire metallic. Additional colours will inevitably be available through the BMW Individual program.
From a visual standpoint, the BMW M2 will adopt a traditionally aggressive BMW M bodykit. With that in mind, it will include a bold front fascia and bumper package while the rear-end will be notable for its inclusion of a pronounced diffuser and quad tailpipes.
