2016 Mercedes-AMG 63 Coupe Spy Shots Emerge Again

The upcoming 2016 Mercedes-AMG C63 has once again been spied in the midst of testing. Despite the following prototype featuring heavily camouflage, many key design and mechanical traits of the upcoming performance coupe are already known.

Unsurprisingly, the Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe will be offered with the same twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine as the sedan. In base C63 specification, that engine pumps out a total of 469 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque while in C63 S specification, horsepower rises to 503 hp and torque has bumped up to 516 lb-ft. As a result, the range-topping Mercedes-AMG C63 S Coupe will accelerate to 100 km/h in less than four seconds as well as an electronically-limited 289 km/h top speed.

It remains to be seen when the Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe models will be revealed but it seems likely it’ll debut later this year or early next year.

Visually, the following prototype features the same basic front fascia as the C63 sedan and estate models while the rear-end incorporates some heavy cladding around the tailgate. Elsewhere, large brake calipers and discs can be seen hiding behind the twin-five spoke silver alloy wheels. Traditional AMG quad tailpipes are also present.
