While Lewis Hamilton no longer races with the McLaren Formula One team, he has been associated with the British racing outfit for most of his life. As a result, it comes as little surprise that the reigning Formula One World Champion recently took delivery of a McLaren P1 at his home in Monaco.
Hamilton took delivery of the British hybrid hypercar in the midst of the Top Marques Monaco 2015 event with numerous car spotters managing to snap pictures and videos of the car before it was driven by a McLaren employee to Hamilton’s nearby property. As with the one-off Pagani Zonda 760LH also owned by Hamilton and residing in Monaco, it is likely that his McLaren P1 will only be seen out on the roads occasionally.
When it is seen in public however, it’ll inevitably send automotive enthusiasts absolutely crazy. For starters, Hamilton’s P1 is finished in a bright shade of blue which is unlike any other we’ve seen for the P1. It also includes a plethora of exposed carbon fibre elements as well as gloss black wing mirrors and wheels incorporating blue outer pin stripes.
Inside, the black and blue theme is continued with blue leather or alcantara adorning the dashboard alongside a number of black elements. As with all P1s, naked carbon fibre accents will also be found throughout the cabin.
