Mercedes-AMG Reportedly Developing Audi TT Rival

The Mercedes-AMG GT is the second model developed entirely by Mercedes-Benz’s performance division, AMG and of course follows on from the SLS AMG revealed in 2010. Now it has emerged that another Mercedes-AMG developed sports car could be in the works and that it’ll rival the Audi TT, a benchmark in the sports car scene.

German sources claim that Mercedes-AMG’s rival to the Audi TT will be underpinned by the new MFA2 platform also set to be used by the next-generation Mercedes-Benz A-Class. In typical Mercedes-AMG fashion and in order to rival the entire third-generation Audi TT range including the TTS and upcoming TT RS, it seems inevitable that a plethora of different variants will be offered with different horsepower and torque outputs.

With that in mind, Mercedes-AMG could also create a convertible variant to rival the Audi TT Roadster.

While all of this sounds very intriguing, if the car is ever created, it might not reach the market until just before the end of the decade.
