Arsonists Burn Down Ferrari 360 and Maserati Spyder in Australia

An arsonist who torched a Ferrari 360 and a Maserati Spyder at an Australian car dealer has left a luxury car seller with a charred wreck and the yard owner with a bill for $850,000 dollars, about 580,000 euros.

Firefighters were called to the afternoon blaze in Perth but were unable to save the 2001 blue Ferrari 360 convertible, valued at $450,000, or the red 2003 Maserati, at least one of which was understood to have been for sale at the Luxuride Car Yard in Newcastle Street.

Perth’s Sunday Times reported that other luxury cars in the vicinity were also damaged but the Western Australia police treating the Luxuride blaze as arson mentioned only that incident in a Facebook appeal for information which brought more than 250 responses, most speculating cynically on a motive for the destruction – plus one from Carl Kunde who said: “To all the people who have no idea! The car is actually mine and was at the shop being sold on consignment .. Gotta love Facebook gossipers.”
