Porsche Delivers Record of 189,850 Cars in 2014

Throughout 2014, Porsche managed to deliver 189,850 new vehicles which represents a 17 per cent increase over the previous year. Additionally, the German marque surpassed 20,000 vehicles sales for a single month in December when 20,644 cars were sold.

The United States ranks as Porsche’s largest market with over 47,000 new vehicles being delivered there. In Porsche’s home country of Germany, almost 24,000 cars were sold with Germany joining United States as the second market to record more Porsche deliveries than ever before.

During last year, about 45,000 examples of the new Porsche Macan were sold while deliveries of the Panamera increased by 13 per cent over 2013. Additionally, sales of the 911 sports car reached almost 30,000 figures representing a boost over the previous year.

Discussing the growth in sales, member of the executive board sales and marketing from Porsche, Bernhard Maier, said, “Our fascinating products and highly motivated employees are the reason for the fourth consecutive year of strong sales growth. On top of that, our brand experienced an additional upswing in 2014 as a result of the successful launch of the Macan. Worldwide, seventy-five per cent of Macan customers were first-time buyers of a Porsche car.”

In 2014, Porsche sold more vehicles in all regions and in all markets. The United States ranked as the number one market in the world with over 47,000 new vehicles delivered. In Germany, nearly 24,000 customers opted for a Porsche model. Both markets reported more deliveries than ever before.

The Porsche Macan, the new sporty compact SUV, was especially popular in the world in 2014 and the fifth model series sold about 45,000 units in the first year of its launch. The Stuttgart sports car manufacturer delivered 13 percent more Panamera sports sedans than in the previous year. With over 30,000 units of the 911 sold, the sports car icon also ranks above the figures from the previous year.
