Autosport International is the perfect platform for BTCC manufacturers and Motorsport teams to announce driver line-ups and the new liveries for the 2015 season. The first day of the show unveiled Andrew Jordan’s new MG complete with Pirtek Livery. Jordan was the Championship winner in 2012 and took victory in the Pirtek Honda. Jordan has swapped his privateer Civic for a factory run MG.
WSR Racing announced a new driver in the form of three-time World Touring Car Champion Andy Priaulx. Andy has joined WSR to race the white and orange BMW 125I M Sports. The team have already announced that Sam Tordoff is joining their team and the third driver announcement is yet to be released.
Infiniti unveiled the stunning Q50 which will be driven by Derek Palmer Jnr and Richard Hawkens. The Laser Tools Mercedes A-Class livery was showcased on the Pop Bang Colour stand. The driver line up of Aiden had been announced prior to ASI.
Other BTCC cars on display were Honda Yuasa’s 2014 racing car, Handy Motorsports Toyota Avensis, Ciceley Racing’s Mercedes and Rob Austin’s Exocet Audi A4.
Over the weekend a number of BTCC drivers are in attendance including Current World Champion Colin Turkington, Simon Belcher, Rob Austin, Matt Neal, Gordon Shedden, Jack Goff and Tom Ingram.
