Chrysler has just unveiled the 2015 Dodge Charger’s online configurator with the personalisation tool complete with the same features as the recently launched 2015 Challenger configurator.
As a result, the configurator allows you to play around with a plethora of different options ranging from colour choices through to numerous options packages. Unfortunately, the range-topping Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat isn’t available on the configurator just yet meaning the trim choices available consist of the SE, SXT and R/T.
Excluding the SRT Hellcat, the range-topping Charger maintains the massive 5.7-iter HEMI V8 of the previous car delivering 370 hp and 395 lb-ft of torque. This potent powerplant is mated to a new TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission and makes use of cylinder deactivation technology.
The 2015 Dodge Charger is also available with a new 3,6-liter V6 Pentastar engine mated to the same transmission and delivering a total of 292 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. However, this engine in Charger SXT specification with the Rallye Appearance Group package which includes a cold air intake, new exhaust and ECU modifications, produces 300 hp and 264 lb-ft of torque.
FYI, excluding the SRT Hellcat, the SRT 392 (6.4L V8 w/ 485 HP) is the range-topping model, which is also currently not included on the configurator. I believe they should be adding that, along with the R/T Scat Pack (Basically a Super Bee) within the next few weeks.
