Prior to the Essen Motor Show 2014 at the end of this month, BMW has introduced its line of BMW M Performance parts for the brand new BMW X4 crossover. As is typical for the M Performance parts line, the tweaks available for the X4 include both interior and exterior add-ons to make the car unique and sportier than normal.

From an exterior perspective, the M Performance parts for the BMW X4 include a blacked-out kidney grille, carbon fibre wing mirror caps and a new set of 21-inch wheels which are slightly wider in the rear. Additionally, some sporty black pinstripes are found along the side of the BMW X4 alongside a subtle carbon fibre bootlid lip spoiler.

In the cabin, the M Performance Parts include special door sill plates with LEDs and a selection of alcantara and carbon fibre accents on the steering wheel and gearshift level. Elsewhere, there are stainless steel pedals and special floor mats.

Finally, an M Performance power kit for the X4 xDrive30d and its 3.0-litre straight-six diesel has been created. It helps boost power by 27 hp bringing the total figure to 282 hp as well as 442 lb-ft of torque. As a result, the sprint from a standstill to 100 km/h has dropped from 5.8 seconds and now sits at 5.5 seconds.
