Entry-Level V6-Powered Ferrari 458 Italia Variant Coming Soon

Entry-Level V6-Powered Ferrari 458 Italia Variant Coming Soon

Just like rival McLaren Automotive, Ferrari is set to expand its supercar range in the future with suggestions that a turbocharged V6 variant of the Ferrari 458 Italia could arrive as soon as next year.

It is speculated that this entry-level model will launch alongside the previously reported on Ferrari 458T set to utilise the California T’s 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine but tuned to produce upwards of 670 hp. The new entry-level twin-turbo V6 engine will likely prove the perfect rival to next year’s 450-500 horsepower McLaren P13 sports car designed to rival the Porsche 911 Turbo and impending 2016 Mercedes-AMG GT.

The engine will reportedly displace 2.9-litres with sub-3 litre cars in China not being struck with heavy taxes. A total of 500 hp and 440 lb-ft of torque could be achievable.
