Mercedes-Benz at the Geneva Motor Show 2014

Mercedes-Benz had a strong showing at the Geneva Motor Show 2014. Having completed the launch of a trio of A-Class based cars recently with the launch of the GLA-Class. Mercedes-Benz had premiere’s of a different variety to debut at this year’s Geneva Motor Show.

Perhaps their most anticipated debut of the Geneva Motor Show 2014 was the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe which replaces the ageing CL-Class models. The S-Class Coupe was presented in Mercedes-Benz S 500 Coupe format with a powerful 4.6-liter V8 biturbo engine as well as all the goodies, including Mercedes-Benz Magic Body Control, Pre-Safe brake and Distronic Plus with Steer Assist and Stop & Go Pilot.

Elsewhere, the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class received its European premiere. There were plenty on stand for us to look at. They range from the C200 petrol version to a more potent C400 4MATIC four-wheel drive version.

The tech world would perhaps be most interested in the new joint venture with Apple which sees the Apple iOS interface making its debut in the new C-Class. It is called CarPlay and uses Apple tech to allow calls and texts to be made using Siri as well as to control navigation and music with touch, voice, or the controls built into your car.
