Aston Martin unveiled the Aston Martin V8 Vantage N430 special edition today ahead of the Geneva Motor Show 2014. The British supercar brand will debut a race-bred Vantage for the road, much like the Aston Martin V8 Vantage N400 and N420 special editions we’ve seen before.
The Aston Martin V8 Vantage N430 gets the same 4.7 litre V8 found under the bonnet of the standard car. Available in Coupe or Roadster form it will get a power boost up to 436 PS at 7,300 rpm, identical to the highly acclaimed Aston Martin V8 Vantage S. The N430 is now able to reach 190 mph whilst the 0-60 mph time is just 4.6 seconds.
Customers will be faced with a choice of a six-speed manual gearbox fitted as standard with the option of a close-ratio seven-speed Sportshift II automated manual transmission. This car also fits a new design of sports exhaust to set the sound apart from other V8 Vantage models and a competition derived braking system. The N430 gets a carefully calibrated sports suspension tune and quick-ratio steering rack too.
What sets the Aston Martin V8 Vantage N430 apart from other V8 Vantage is the special features including the carbon fibre and Kevlar seas, 10-spoke forged alloy wheels that save 20 kg in weight and unique styling cues. James May won’t be happy to hear that the Aston Martin V8 Vantage N430 has been tested extensively at Aston Martin’s Nürburgring’s Nordschleife Test Centre.
Styling touches include a range of dark-themed exterior details; graphite painted forged alloy wheels alongside a black front grille, headlamp bezels, exterior meshes, side window surrounds, a textured tailpipe finish and clear rear lamps with black surrounds. Optional club sports graphics packs are also available for those that want a little heritage.
Inside, the N430 features new machined carbon sill plaques, N430 seat logos, black magnesium paddle-shifts or carbon fibre gearshift surround, a contemporary driver instrument panel, black anodised rotaries, a leather steering wheel with contrasting on-centre stitch feature (or Alcantara with matching stitch), seat and door inserts in technical PlissèAlcantara (or indented leather on Roadster models) and unique seat trim patterns.
It isn’t all performance and styling though. Aston Martin also offer as optional features available to N430 customers, a state-of-the-art 1000W Bang & Olufsen BeoSound audio system with ICEpower technology.
UK Pricing starts from £89,995 with first deliveries of the new N430 expected to begin in September this year. Stay tuned for our report from the Geneva Motor Show 2014 show floor!
