Lotus first took the wraps off of its Elise S Cup R racer back in November. The Elise S Cup R will join its big brothers, the Exige V6 Cup, Exige Cup R and Evora GT4 in the Lotus racing stable after its official global debut at the 2014 Autosport International car show in Birmingham, UK on January 9.

The Elise S Cup R features a full competition-spec aero kit, which includes a carbon fiber front splitter, side skirts and rear wing. Other noticeable aesthetic changes over the standard Elise S are black 17-inch alloy wheels, blacked out headlights, a black roof, tow hooks and a bespoke livery.

Under the hood sits Lotus’s supercharged 1.8 litre, four cylinder engine with a motorsport specific ECU map, producing the same 217 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque as the road going Elise S. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a six speed manual transmission.

The 2014 Lotus Elise S Cup R will cost £39,125 pounds, or US $62,831. Although customers wont be able to drive the car on the road, they may take it to a track day, or compete in one of the many Lotus Cup racing Series happening all over the world.
