2014 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Purchased With Bitcoins

In recent months, the value of online currency Bitcoins has soared. As a matter of fact, one bit coin is currently worth $866 U.S. dollars. As a result, the virtual currency is emerging as a legitimate way of purchasing real life products none more so than cars.

Just a couple of weeks ago, Lamborghini Newport Beach sold the very first car in exchange for bitcoins. The car in question was a silver Tesla Model S. Now, the first exotic car purchase using bitcoins is said to have been made by a 4chan user who spent 216.8433 bitcoins to purchase a yellow 2014 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4!

Official documents from Lamborghini Newport Beach have leaked online showcasing that the Gallardo was indeed paid for with bitcoins to the value of $209,995. The documents were only shared between the buyer and the dealership and it is believed that the buyer was the one who posted them online.

Since the first Tesla Model S was sold recently, Lamborghini Newport Beach has reportedly been inundated with people interested in purchasing cars with Bitcoins. As a matter of fact, the dealerships marketing director Cedric Davy has revealed that the dealer has received about 20 calls from interested Bitcoin buyers.

Davy said, “It was a little surprising to us. It’s interesting thing because after the first transaction, it’s something for us that went viral in a way we weren’t even considering. We got a lot of phone calls from people with interest in buying with Bitcoin.”
