Race of Champions Cancelled Due to Political Unrest

The annual Race of Champions pinned to be held in Bangkok this year, has been officially cancelled because of the current political situation in the region. Last year’s event was also held in Bangkok and the cancellation of this year’s event is a real disappointment.

For those that didn’t know, the Race of Champions was first held in 1988 and brings together the world’s greatest drivers from a selection of different racing series’ such as Formula One, World Rally Championship, Le Mans racing as well as DTM. Last year, Lotus Formula One racer Romain Grosjean came out victories and was named the ‘Champion of Champions’.

This year’s edition, originally planned to take place from December 14-15th has been cancelled because of ongoing violence between government forces and protestors.
