The updated and facelifted Land Rover Discovery has been spotted testing almost completely undisguised ahead of its official world debut at the upcoming IAA Frankfurt Motor Show 2013 next month.
As the following image highlights, test mules for the new car are in their final stages of development with sales expected to begin later this year before deliveries begin early 2014. While styling tweaks of the Land Rover Discovery are extremely minor, the 2014 Land Rover Discovery will feature brand new headlights inspired by the new LED graphics featured on the current Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models.
Additional changes are expected to consist of redesigned foglights as well as an all-new front grille. In place of the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engine will be a supercharged V6 powerplant poised to deliver 375hp. This engine will actually be the same unit found on the Jaguar F-Type V6 S.
Unlike the Range Rover Evoque which is now available with a nine-speed transmission, the 2014 Land Rover Discovery is expected to maintain the current eight-speed ZF gearbox.
