James Glickenhaus is bringing both the Ferrari P4/5 and the Ferrari P4/5 Competizione to the Quail this week. Unfortunately, tickets are almost certainly sold out so only the luckiest will get to see them together. Despite this, we will have a photographer on hand to capture the spectacle so you won’t miss out!
If you are a fan of bespoke modern Ferrari’s, they don’t come much rarer than the P4/5. The cars leave Glickenhaus’ private collection in New York specially for the event.
The powertrain of the Pininfarina P4/5 Competizione is a combination between a 4.0 liter V8 and a Formula 1-style KERS system producing a peak output of 563 horsepower. Recent rumours suggest that a P4/5 Competizione could spawn an LMP1 competitor in the very near future.
The Ferrari P4/5 is based upon the chassis of the Ferrari Enzo. Pininfarina fitted it with a unique carbon fibre reinforced plastic body and retained the 6.0 litre V12 engine yet gained a small amount of power with the total power figure pegged at 660 hp. It uses the same 6 speed semi-automatic transmission.
