Gumball 3000 set off today from outside the City Hall in Copenhagen, Denmark. GTspirit attended the start, bright and early at 10am and we have a gallery of photos to share with you! The pictures in the first gallery were taken at the start of the rally, whereas, the pictures in the second gallery were taken in Sweden, once the Gumballers had crossed the border.
The 2013 event starts in Copenhagen, Denmark on Sunday 19 May 2013 and works its way steadily east before crossing south to the finish line in Monte Carlo. As with previous events, participants will be able to watch the 2013 Monaco Grand Prix after finishing a grueling 2013 rally.
The start didn’t go entirely to plan. The cars were due to leave Copenhagen at 10am, yet they weren’t ready until 11am. Once the cars had crossed the line, they had several options. The route took them to an initial checkpoint at the Koeingsegg Factory in Angelholm, Sweden. Around 40 cars attended this checkpoint, however, a number chose to drive straight to Stockholm.
