Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse World Record Edition Live at Shanghai Auto Show 2013

The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse World Record Edition ha gone on display at the Shanghai Auto Show 2013. The World Record Edition has been proven to reach speeds of 408.84 km/h or 254.04 mph making it the fastest road legal convertible production vehicle in the world. It was driven to that speed by Chinese racing driver Anthony Liu at Volkswagen’s Ehra-Lessien test track.

The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse is based on the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport and it uses an 8 liter W16 engine, which delivers 1,200 PS and a torque of 1,500 Nm at 3,000 to 5,000 rpm. The increased power of the roadster’s 16-cylinder engine is made possible by the four enlarged turbochargers and intercoolers. The chassis of the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse has also been modified to support the power increase.

In typical Bugatti fasion, all that really tells this car apart from the rest is the eye catching colour scheme. Much like the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport World Record Edition, the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse World Record Edition gets a black carbon body with orange accents running from behind the lights to the dashboard.
