Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Series Round 1

Round 1 of Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Series

The Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo season has completed its first round at the Monza circuit in Italy today, it started with a win from South African driver Adrian Zaugg who claimed the pole on Saturday’s race but today has also seen two different winners both in race one and two.

It was still Adrain Zaugg who took the early lead in the early stages of race one but Cedric Leimer finally took the win. Amateur Frederico De Nora managed to put away Adrain and secured the second position still in race one while Laurent Jenny finished third overall.

In Race two, it was Andrea Amici showed a remarkable recovery from 16th on the grid to take the win in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo marking an end to the first round of the season. Generally, the weekend was perfect for all race teams, normal mistakes and hitches are of course inescapable. Yesterday, Andrea Mamé crashed heavily on the high speed exit to the sweeping Ascari curve, but in a validation of the safety of the car, was unharmed.

The next race will be held on May 4th at the Misano circuit in Italy, they will then head over to the Silverstone circuit on June 1st, then the Paul Ricard HTTT in France, that will be on June 29 followed by the Spa-Francorchamps as the 5th Round on July 25th in Belgium. The six round will be at the Nurburgring in Germany on September 29 before bringing the season to an end with the seventh round at Vallelunga in Italy on November 23.
