Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0

After revealing the 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 to the world at the Geneva Motor Show 2013, Porsche has just confirmed that a more hardcore, GT3 RS model is in the works.

While speaking with Car Magazine, Porsche’s head of GT series production Andreas Preuninger stated that RS models are generally launched “three-quarters of the year” after the base model meaning an unveiling is all but certain for early next year.

In addition to this news, Mr. Preuninger also confirmed that the 2015 Porsche 911 GT3 RS will only be available with Porsche’s patented PDK transmission just like the recently launched 2014 Porsche 911 GT3.

While this may upset enthusiasts, Preuninger stated that the PDK transmission “offers more involvement than the manual option”.

Furthermore, the 2015 Porsche 911 GT3 RS will feature electric steering like the present 991-generation Porsche 911.
