Carlsson have something special to show at the Geneva Motor Show 2013. The Carlsson SLK 340 Race is built upon the chassis of Mercedes-Benz’ popular SLK model. It was designed for the E1 international hill climb races. We sent a photographer to check it out!
The Carlsson SLK 340 Race was built scratch and features heavy use of carbon fiber to maintain low weight. In total, the Carlsson SLK 340 Race weighs just 780kg. The powerhouse features a 3.4-liter V8 engine that develops 610hp and maximum torque of 430 Newton meters. Carlsson then mater the entire package to a Hewland transmission with a paddle shift selector.
It features 3-way adjustable KW competition suspension to ensure optimum road holding. The wheels are BBS racing wheels sized in 10×18 inches at the front and 13×18 inches at the rear wrapped with Avon tires.
