The facelifted and uprated Range Rover Sport was recently spied testing in the U.K ahead of its expected public debut at the 2013 New York Motor Show in late March.

As with previous Range Rover Sport’s, the latest addition will be offered in a number of different specifications, with the base model implementing a measly 258hp, 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine while it’ll also be offered with a much more suitable 5.0-liter V8 petrol engine.

A new feature set to debut in the Range Rover Sport will be an incredible nine-speed automatic transmission which can be controlled manually by a traditional gear shifter.

From the outside, the new Range Rover Sport features similar headlights to the standard Range Rover, but also draws design inspiration from the Evoque as evidenced by the two-bar grille, aggressively designed foglights and a thick plastic front bumper protection plate.
