It seems just like yesterday when the 2013 SRT Viper GTS was launched and in that time, SRT has continued to refine the car before unleashing it into the hands of journalists all around the globe. Well, Motor Trend were among the very first to drive the new American muscle car in the latest episode of Ignition.

The car is driven by presenter Carlos Lago and then professional racing driver Randy Pobst around Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca to see just how potent such a car can be. After all, the SRT Viper is said to be drastically more refined that the original Dodge Viper, but does that means it’s more docile?

Well, the video will answer that question among others you may have had about the new car. As a quick refresher, the SRT Viper GTS features a massive 8.4 liter V10 engine pumping out 640hp and 600lb-ft of torque which is then mated to a Tremec TR6060 six-speed manual transmission helping to rocket the car to 100km/h in just 3.4 seconds.
