At the recent 2012 Petit Le Mans race at Road Atlanta, the guys over at GoPro teamed up with the Flying Lizards racing team and their Porsche 911 RSR racer to film the car and track from a selection of angles during the first official practice session.
The filming was done from a pair of HERO3 cameras filming at 2.7K/30fps and these pint-sized cams capture just how fast a 911 RSR is while also showcasing the intoxicating exhaust note produced by its 4.0 liter six-cylinder boxer engine.
The 911 RSR delivers a total of 460hp and although this may not sound like a great deal, the advanced electronic systems, paddle-shift operated semi-automatic transmission and the light body weight all combine to create one of the most successful racers in recent years.
