Sportec has sent us information on their ultimate racer based on a 911 (997) GT2. The Sportec 911 GT2 R earned the nickname The Hulk. It features 720hp, 850Nm and a maximum weight of 1,325kg. The green jet GT2 is fitted with twin turbos allowing it to catapult in 8.2 seconds to a speed of 200km/h.

The whole project requested the removal of comfort. Only the air conditioner was allowed to stay. Sportec welded a roll cage firmly into the cabin and fitted a lightweight carpet body. They also installed two refractory Recaro bucket seats.

Two Sportec K24.730 turbos provide a solid performance increase to 720hp at 7,850rpm and 850Nm of torque at 4,760rpm. Special camshafts, larger intercooler, reinforced titanium conrods by Sportec, sports air filter and a reinforced clutch complete the engine upgrade. A new exhaust system with manifolds, sport catalysts and titanium Akrapovic muffler provide an improved sound track.

A sprint from zero to 100km/h is done in 3.8 seconds. The top speed is 302km/h and the power to weight ratio 3.3kg/hp.

The specialist of Sportec came up with a revised traction control system that does not brake through the drivetrain, but via the reduction of engine power on the fuel injectors. The new change has several stages, is more sensitive and is faster than the standard traction control system.

A customized and fully adjustable Bilstein suspension, wider track with 10 inch wide wheels in front and 12 inch rear, and a modified brake system with 380 disks are the main changes to the handling.

The widened bodywork has optimized air inlets for the charge air and brake cooling. For sufficient downforce at the rear axle a larger rear spoiler was fitted that can be replaced with RSR tail.

The total price of the vehicle has not been released by Sportec. The Swiss tuner stated that an engine tuning to 655hp starts at € 22,000. The exhaust system is available at € 6,500. Other prices are up on request.
