A Russian website has revealed pictures of the 2014 Audi RS6 Avant. The RS6 Avant isn’t due for an official unveil until the 2013 Geneva Motor Show which makes these pictures very special indeed!
As we don’t have any details to share, we can only share our casual observations from the photos at the moment. Most obvious to our eyes is that the power plant has been downsized, the previous generation’s V10 makes way for a TFSI V8 unit. This should be the same 4.0 liter twin-turbo unit fitted to the current S6, however, for the RS6 it will feature a higher power output of around 580hp.
Expect Audi’s quattro four-wheel drive system to play its part, along with an active rear differential. Audi will probably fit a newer seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox for the RS6. The RS6 is also expected to lose 100kg over the previous model thanks to use of aluminium and carbon fiber technologies!
The styling is classic Audi RS. It features wider fenders, a completely redesigned front facia with aggressive air intakes, a new rear spoiler and inconic dual RS-style tailpipes with a new diffuser.
