The Birmingham NEC played host to the Footman James Classic Motor Show once again. This years Classic Car Show was held on its own rather than alongside the Top Gear Live show, which we covered a few weeks back.

Unlike the Top Gear Live show there was a wide variety of beauties on display which covered eleven halls. Whilst one hall was dedicated to classic Motorcycles the other ten played host to over 1,400 classic cars. This years show was the biggest to date with over 58,000 visitors over the three days.

There were a number of clubs present with an array of classics on display including Audi, Triumph, Vauxhall, Aston Martin, BMW, Bugatti and Lamborghini.

One of the Bond cars was on display a Jaguar XKR which featured in Die Another Day. The Back to the Future car, DeLorean DMC 12 which is also a favourite at any car show that it makes an appearance at, was present. There were a few special guests at the show including the legend Sir Stirling Moss, Red Dwarf’s Chris Barrie, TT Riders Guy Martin and Mick Grant and Comedian Steve Coogan.

Dream rides were available to all visitors who could donate to charity to be taken for a ten mile ride as a passenger. Dream cars available were Ferraris, Aston Martins, Lamborghini’s and Maserati’s. With around 1,000 rides completed, a total of over £30,000 was collected for the charity.

Some of the stunning cars on display at the show and in our gallery were a Ferrari 1963 250 GT SWB Berlinetta, Ferrari Testarossa, Bugatti, Ford GT40 Porsche 911, Red Bull Lotus, Porsche Carrera and the winner of the Meguiar’s club showcase final: 1962 VW Beetle 1200 Deluxe.
