Bologna-based supercar manufacturer Automobili Turismo e Sport (ATS) may only have a two year history in the 1960’s, but the brand name is now planning a comeback. ATS built cars between 1963 and 1965 with the ATS 2500 GT being the most notable, a small 2.5L V8 coupe developed by Chiti and Bizzarrini with the bodywork built by Michelotti, only twelve were built.

The ATS 2500GT will be revived courtesy of the Unico Esemplare-Il garage dei sogni owned by Gianluca Gregis. Its frame will be a tubular chassis with an integrated rollcage and honeycomb panels. The body will feature carbon fiber panels with the total weight being less than 1,000kgs.

It will still feature a 2.5 liter capacity engine like the previous 2500 GT. Gregis will use a Cosworth turbocharged mid-engine with four-cylinders based on a Subaru and mated to a six-speed manual transmission pushing 500hp to the rear wheels. It’s expected to hit a top speed of 300kmh and 0-100kmh in just 3.3 seconds.

Other notable features include the 19 inch ADV.1 wheels designed exclusively for this GT with notable brands such as Tarox, Nardi Steering wheels, Sparco, Carbon Evo, Oram Suspension and Apple also involved in this project.
