Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg is famous for hosting the Formula 1 German Grand Prix, but Sport Auto’s test drive editor Christian Gebhardt went there for a different reason. He tested the 2012 Corvette ZR1, Corvette Z06 Centennial Edition and the Corvette Grand Sport in what they call Super-Tests.
The 2012 Corvette went ahead to break various lap records, which had the likes of Donkervoort D8 RS06, Gumpert Apollo Sport, Maserati MC 12 corsa and Radical SR3 SL in the top four while it took the fifth position beating bigger competitors like the Porsche 911 GT2 RS, Carrera GT, GT3 RS 3.8 & 4.0, Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4, McLaren MP4-12C, Audi R8 GT and the Lexus LFA Nürburgring Edition.
