Rolls-Royce are showing two series of special edition models at the Paris Motor Show 2012. The first group is the Art Deco cars. The second consists of one car; the Aviator Collection Phantom Coupé, one of 35 limited edition model, first presented at the Monterey Car Week earlier this year. We sent a photographer to take a look at this extra special Phantom!

The idea comes from the Rolls-Royce Bespoke department. They are inspired by Charles Stewart Rolls and the Supermarine S.6B award winning seaplane, celebrating Rolls-Royce’s simultaneous world speed records on land, air and in the water. It features a transmission tunnel finished in anodised aluminium with exposed torx fixings and swage lines that echo the oil cooling veins on the S.6B fuselage side. These highlights are repeated on collection car armrests.

The leather-lined glove compartment also includes an embossed Charles Rolls quote following his first flight with the Wright Brothers in 1908: The power of flight is as a fresh gift from the Creator, the greatest treasure yet given to man. Charles Rolls was only the second man in Britain to hold a pilot’s license. The centre console chrome plaque describes Rolls simply as Pioneer Aviator complete with signature. Finally, leather floor mats and aluminum cup holders are also distinguishing features.
