Monterey 2012: Lamborghini Urus Concept

Lamborghini presented the Urus Concept at The Quail Gathering last Friday. It’s the first time the Urus has been displayed to the public in the US having previously gone on display at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show. Nothing had changed since the last time that we saw it, it has been getting a good reception though. It’s not quite the LM002 successor that people expected!

Of course, the Lamborghini Urus Concept gets permanent four-wheel drive, similar to the rest of the Lamborghini range. Details surrounding the concept’s construction are rather thin on the ground at the moment. We suspect it is a mixture of aluminium and lightweight carbon fibre. The engine could be anything from the current Lamborghini or Audi ranges.

Lamborghini’s preference on showing the Lamborghini Urus in the US and in China is perhaps the biggest indicator of the markets Lamborghini hope to target with the release of an SUV. It’s not clear when the Urus Concept will be displayed for European customers to view, hopefully it will be soon!
