According to our friends at Jalopnik, Aston Martin is working on a V8-powered version of their Cygnet city car. The idea is to use the V8 engine from the V8 Vantage in the Cygnet offering a more unique and powerful package for future owners.

For those of you unknown to the Cygnet, the Aston Martin Cygnet is a luxury city car based on the Toyota IQ. This small car was developed by the British manufacturer of supercars in response to the tougher emission standards set by the European Union. The car is powered by a 1.3 liter straight-four engine which provides 98bhp and 123Nm of torque. The customised vehicle is only available for people who buy a ‘real’ Aston.

Stay tuned for more in the future!

  1. For those of you unknown to the Cygnet …… the Cygnet is in fact an over priced overweight over hyped Toyota iQ . Mentioning the word ‘ Luxury ‘ and Cygnet in the same sentence is in fact a very Cynical Oxymoron .

As to the potential for a V8 powered Cygnet ? Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t April Fools a few months ago ?
