If you want subtle tuning, German tuner Väth Automobiltechnik are usually a good place to start. We’ve seen their SLS AMG Coupe before and now it’s time to present the SLS AMG Roadster! As we expected, the car features a few aerodynamic changes, performance upgrades and the possibility of interior upgrades too.
To start with, Väth fitted a supercharger with an air box to increase power output from the SLS AMG 6.2 liter V8 engine. To optimise this, the car also received an ECU tune which increases of the Vmax too. The engine now puts out 702hp and 850Nm of torque for a 0-100km/h time of 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 330km/h with a change of tyres.
The car alo features more efficient fuel cooling and an enlarged gear box oil cooler. The brakes have been changed for a set of high performance brake discs measuring 405mm and with steel flax lines. A stainless steel exhaust system with throttle control is an extra options or, as an alternative, there is also a stainless steel exhaust system with sports catalyst.
The wheels are three-part forged Väth designs measuring 9.5×20 inches at the front with 265/30-20 tyres and 12×20 inches at the rear with 315/25-20 tyres. Väth also developed a new suspension option with threaded sports springs available for cars with AMG Ride Control. They are compatible with the factory nose-lift system and do not affect the functionality aof ride control. They allow lowering of between 20 and 45mm.
In terms of aeroynamc adjustments, Vath offer a bodykit which features a front spoiler, boot spoiler, side skirts and extra brake ventilation, all constructed from high quality naked carbon fiber. Inside, the car gets a new sporty steering wheel. Plenty of interior options are also available with materials ranging from leather, carbon fiber or even fine woods! A new speedometer has also bee fitted to show up to 400km/h.
The total cost for the package is 85.130 euro inclusive of VAT. Individual parts are available upon request.
