Chris Harris and YouTube channel DRIVE drove the new 2013 Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG in the south of Germany. The video follows after our personal road test, which we released a few weeks ago. Chris took the car into the Swabian hills and onto the unlimited German Autobahn.
The 2013 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG gets the AMG-fettled 5.5 liter V8 biturbo engine delivering 544hp and torque of 560lb-ft. These are 44hp and 44lb-ft gains over the G55. Engineers have coupled this with AMG’s Speedshift Plus, seven-speed automatic transmission. This means 0-100km/h in just 5.3 seconds and a 209km/h limited top speed.
