It’s not every day that we get to enjoy the sounds of a Ferrari F40 LM being driven hard. Especially these days. Any F40’s (LM or not) are generally kept meticulously covered in the corner of their owner’s garage. If we’re lucky, they get to come out for various car shows throughout the year.
Even then, we rarely get to hear the engine that made the F40 one of the most iconic supercars of the 20th century. So when a friend sent over a video of none other than former Formula 1 driver Jacques Lafitte driving an F40, needless to say, I was intrigued. And then sat down and clicked play…
The video may not be a new occurrence to many of the Ferrari faithful, but for those who haven’t seen this video, take a few moments, put on headphones and just listen. It’s the kind of sound that makes you want to quit your job, sell your house (and your neighbors) and just drive.
