It took less than five minutes for Jay-Z and Kanye West’s chopped Maybach 57 to sell at the New York Contemporary Art Evening auction. The $ 60,000 winning bid was posted by an anonymous bidder and comes short of the $ 100,000 – $ 150,000 estimate placed on the car before the sale. Part of the proceeds from the sale went to Save the Children to provide food for children in Africa.
The 2004 Maybach 57 was famously cut up by the rap duo for their music video ‘Otis’. The front was stuck to the back and the back was stuck to the front. All the doors were removed and Jay-Z took Kanye and a bunch of models for a ride!
