Jaguar have released details of the new Jaguar XF Sportbrake tonight. The official release comes ahead of the full public release at the Geneva Motor Show 2012 next week. The Sportbrake comes almost five years after the release of the original Jaguar XF. It will compete with the big German manufacturers, Mercedes E-Class Estate, Audi’s A6 Avant and BMW’s 5-Series Touring.
As predicted, the 2013 Jaguar XF Sportbrake will be offered with only diesel engined options. This means a 2.2 liter I4 Diesel with 204hp and a 3.0 liter V6 Diesel with both 240hp and 275hp options.
The Jaguar XF Sportbrake gets a totally new rear end from the B-pillar back. The extended roofline allows the rear passengers 4.8 inches extra headroom. The divide is 60:40 in favour of the rear passengers with a load carrying capacity of 550 gallons with the rear seats up and 1,675 liters with the rear down. With the rear seats down, the Sportbrake can swallow almost two meters worth of load.
Jaguar will offer an aerodynamic pack with the Sportbrake. This will include a deeper front bumper, flared side sills, a lowered rear bumper and a larger rear spoiler. A black pack option will add black accents in place of the chrome standard options.
