Recently BMW released a facelift X6 and X6 M, we now expect that they will do the same for the BMW X5 M. BMWblog.com posted a few pictures of a test mule in a car park, presumably in the US state of South Carolina. They show that a change in headlights and taillights will be the main feature of the refresh.

BMW will fit their range-topping SUV with adaptive LED headlights and a new set of taillights, similar to the updates for the BMW X6. We will have to wait and see if the X5 M gets a new bumper set, this vehicle seems to suggest it won’t.

Underneath, the BMW X5 M will remain the same. It gets power from a 4.4 liter V8 engine delivering 555hp at 6,000rpm and 500lb-ft of torque from 1500 to 5,650rpm. Acceleration to 100kmh from a standstill is acheived in 4.5 seconds.

Expect to see the facelift at the New York Motor Show in April. More pictures at BMWblog.
