Fifth Gear UK and its famous host Tiff Needell compares the Audi RS3 versus the all-new BMW 1 Series M Coupe together with Mark Higgins, the man who had a near crash at the Isle of Man this year.
Both gentlemen drive the cars on a British track and check the handling and performance. Mark drives the Audi RS3 for a lap time and Tiff takes the bimmer around the track.
The RS3 engine boasts five cylinders and turbocharging technology. From a displacement of 2.5 liters come 340hp of power and 450Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the road via a seven-speed S tronic and quattro permanent all-wheel drive. The RS3 rockets from a dead stop to 100km/h in 4.6 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 250km/h.
The 1M Coupe comes with a six-in-line twin turbo engine creating a similar 340bhp together with 450Nm of torque. The power is derived to the wheels via a manual six-speed clutch making a sprint from standstill to 100km/h possible in just 4.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 250km/h in about 30 seconds.
