2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake

Following yesterday’s Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Break spyshots, we can now bring you a new rendering of what an AMG tuned variant of the Shooting Brake would look like. PS-Design blogger, Dan Buzdugan, took the clear design from yesterday’s photos and added the small touches that will make an AMG model stick out from the rest.

The renderings show a Shooting Break with a sportier and aggressive rear diffuser, quad exhaust pipes and 19 inch five-spoke alloy rims. The car sits lower to the ground than in the spyshots. When the real car surfaces expect there to also be a redesigned front with larger air intakes.

We first saw the Shooting Brake Concept back at the Shanghai Motorshow in 2010. We first caught up with it at this year’s Villa d’Este where we were impressed with its general sytle. An AMG model would inevitably receive the same 525hp M157 5.5 liter bi-turbo V8 as other Mercedes-Benz AMG models. Expect the unique ‘Speedshift MCT’ seven-speed transmission and the acclaimed electromechanical steering system to feature as part of the standard kit.
