Today Gran Turismo Events held its opening event of the 2011 season at the world famous Spa-Francorchamps race track in Belgium. GT Spa is the beginning of a week that takes the participants from all over Europe to Spa, the Nurburgring-Nordschleife, the Wiesmann factory, former F1-track Zandvoort and finally Amsterdam to finish the week in style.
The Formula 1 racing track hosted a nice variety of sports cars from a BMW 1 Series M Coupe to a Nissan R35 GT-R and from a Ferrari Enzo to a Porsche 911 GT2. The event included an unique mix of sports cars with drivers from Germany, Belgium, Sweden, Russia, Estonia, Norway, Holland and Luxemburg.
The weather was what can be expected from Francorchamps. Sunny skies, rain, hail and strong winds… within an hour!

Friday the Gran Turismo Spa participants are expected to make their appearence at the Zandvoort race track. Sadly the Sportec SPR1 FL can’t make it due to other commitments. For those of you that haven’t been able to visit Spa today or Zandvoort Friday, Gran Turismo Events will have another event soon (25-29th of April) at the Nurburgring!
