It is no surprise that Bentley released today their extreme edition of the Continental Supersports. The 2012 Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible Limited Edition or shall we say Bentley Continental Supersports ‘Ice Speed Record’ Convertible celebrates the world ice speed record set by Juha Kankkunen in the Bentley SuperSports Convertible a few weeks ago. The driver managed more than 205.5mph (330.7km/h) on ice.
Only 100 ‘Ice Record’ Convertibles are being built over the upcoming months. The 6.0 liter W12 in the Ice Speed SuperSports delivers 631bhp and 800Nm of torque. The roofless luxury sports car goes from zero to 60mph in 3.8 seconds, 0-100mph in 9.5 seconds and 50-70mph in 2.5 seconds. The maximum speed is 202mph (325km/h). The technicians at Bentley tweaked the free-breathing intakes, intercooler and exhaust system.
Next to some technical changes, the Supersports Ice got some cosmetic tweaks as well. In total three paint jobs are available named Beluga, Quartzite and Arctica White. They all receive red-accented detailing and have a dark grey soft top with a semi-transparent metallic look in a twill weave construction. The 20 inch ten-spoke alloys, ‘Ice Speed Record’ motifs on the sides and round the bonnet louvres also include red details.
On the inside the Bentley got some decent upgrades as diamond-quilted Alcantara on the doors, quarter panels and seat facings and soft-grip leather on the steering wheel. High-gloss carbon fiber on the dashboard, center console and roof panel have red weave highlights. The interior department continued the red details in the piping on the seats and doors and contrast stitching to the seats, door casings, steering wheel and gearshift paddles.
At this is stage it is unknown what the 2012 Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible Limited Edition will cost exactly.
