Marussia is expanding its visibility worldwide with the renewed partnership between Marussia Motors, the firm from Russian TV personality Nikolay Fomenko, and Virgin Racing for the team’s second season in Formula One. The Marussia B1 is the first model heading to the UK this summer.
Power comes from two engines, either a 300bhp 3.5 liter V6, or a 2.8 liter turbocharged V6 developed by Cosworth, which comes with 360bhp or 420bhp. With a kerbweight of 1,100kg, the most powerful B1 is capable of 0-100km/h in 4.2 seconds, while top speed is limited to 250km/h.
Only 2999 examples of the B1 are due to be built, and it will be priced at around £ 110,000. The Russian car maker can sell as many as 250 cars in the UK. Buyers can tailor the car to their own tastes, including a conversion to right-hand drive.
Additionally, the Russians have the Marussia B2 with a different styling with respect to the B1 and the upcoming B3 GT racer to be revealed in the spring.
