Ralph Gilles, president and CEO of the Dodge brand, recently gave an interview offering some fresh information on the replacement for the popular Dodge Viper that went out of production in July. Speaking at the Automotive News World Congress, Gilles said that the design of the new car had been inspired by “a naked woman on the beach”.

Short of actually giving us many details, Gilles confirmed only that the Viper will not use an engine from the Ferrari line-up. It looks almost certain that the car will return during 2012 as a 2013 model year car.

Elsewhere, Gilles also talked about the car being pitched in competition against Porsche and the Chevrolet Corvette.

  1. This guy’s description fits just about every sports car ever designed! I think the real question should be, will his description turn his fantasy into reality for every guy who buys one?
