Today at the Festival of Speed, we got our first look around the limited edition Mercedes-Benz C-Class DR 520. The car is part of a 20-car series to be made available to UK owners only at the Brooklands, Surrey-based Mercedes-Benz World. As we mentioned yesterday, the car comes from Mercedes Specialist Products division. It is available in both Saloon and Estate versions however it is unclear how many of each will be produced.
Power is up to 520hp and 650Nm of torque, overall this is a 60hp and 50Nm increase over the standard C 63 AMG. The Saloon will reach 100km/h (62mph) in just 4.1 seconds, with the estate reaching the same in 4.2 seconds. The electronic limiters are set at 300km/h (187mph).
Mercedes have fitted the AMG Performance Pack Plus to both cars. This includes AMG’s high-performance braking system with red calipers, additional engine upgrades in the form of forged pistons, newly developed connecting rods and a revised crankshaft, as well as an AMG carbon fiber rear spoiler for the saloon.
The two colour options are matt black or matt white, both wrapped. Titanium finish alloy wheels complete the look nicely with DR 520 badging proving the cars
Alcantara finish to the interior provides a sporty feeling, the new multi-function AMG Performance steering wheel is also finished with joint nappa leather and alcantara.
The DR 520 costs £ 9,995 above the standard C 63 AMG price, making the DR 520 Saloon £ 62,430 OTR and the Estate £ 63,680 OTR. The cars are also backed by a three-year, 60,000 mileage warranty.
