RUF RGT 8

RUF introduces the RUF RGT-8 prototype with a completely new RUF designed V8 engine. The 4.5 liter V8 delivers 550hp with a maximum torque of 500Nm. During the development of the RUF RGT-8 weight saving and compactness had priority, this effort resulted in an engine that weighs less than 200kg. The power is transferred to the rear wheels by a six-speed manual gearbox.

The current Porsche 911 forms the basis for the RGT-8 chassis. The car is further build up using bodywork components from RUF. The result is the RGT-8 with a design inspired by the 550 Coupé that won a class at 24 hours of Le Mans in 1953. Production of the RUF RGT-8 is planned for 2011.
