We’re expecting to see the new 5-Series next year which means that there will definitely be another exciting M5 to look forward to soon after. This video shows what is almost certainly the mule for that car putting in a number of testing laps on Germany’s most famous race circuit.
The M5 is known to it’s developers simply as the F10. It will be a fundamentally different experience to previous generation M5’s mainly because it will make use of a turbocharger. In this respect it’s the end of an era for BMW engines, bought about by the requirement to reduce the levels of environmental impact their cars produce.
It’s not all bad though. Latest rumours suggest that the car will gain a 4.4-litre twin turbo with a figure close to 430kW (585hp). Watching the video there’s definitely a whir that confirms the presence of forced induction system. We’ll let you know when we see more!
