New BMW M5 to get Twin Turbo V8 or V10

BMW M5 Testcar (TT V8 and V10)

BMW is strugling with a dilemma. They don’t know what engine to put in the nose of the 2011 M5: a Twin Turbo V8 or a V10? The first option sounds most logical because both X5M and X6M are using this one yet, but most of us probably agree that the M5 needs to keep running on a V10.

BMW actually want to work with the V10, but because of the CO2 limits in the USA that might become a problem which isn’t there with the TT V8, more is that both engines would almost be even powerfull. Why then still think about the V10? Because BMW says that they will use the V10 when the American government allows them to do so. Stay tuned for more on this…
